Statement of responsibility: llustrations: Engraved portrait of the author by Ribault after Lafitte; 6 plates by Bourgeois de la Richardière, Bovinet, Mécou, Pillement fils, Prot and Roger, after Gérard, Girodet, Isabey, Lafitte, Moreau and Prud'hon, in three states: proofs in preliminary etched state, inlaid, proofs before letters in black and proofs after letters printed in colors by Langlois.
Statement of responsibility: With 2 sets of proofs before letters, one in black, inlaid, and one colored by hand, of 4 engravings in octavo size after Moreau and Vernet. With an original drawing in charcoal by Prud'hon for the plate "Naufrage de Virginie," inlaid, and an original drawing in pen and ink by Vernet, mounted.
Ownership: With bookplate of Emmanuel Martin and leather label of Cortlandt F. Bishop.
Content: Binding, by Thouvenin, of full plum-colored straight-grain morocco, gilt, with center ornament in red, yellow and green; doublures and linings of olive straight-grain morocco, gilt, ornamented in red, green and plum; in red morocco case.
