Notes recorded by Walter Terry in December 1974 in New York City regarding performances he saw by American Ballet Theatre including Rudolf Nureyev in Apollo and the Moor's pavane; and by the Murray Louis Dance Company at New York University Theater. Streaming audio file (approximately 22 minutes). Walter Terry speaks about recent performances he saw by American Ballet Theatre including La sylphide with Ivan [Nagy], Natasha [Natalia Markova], and Fernando Bujones; Rudolf Nureyev in George Balanchine's Apollo, in Paul Taylor's Aureole, in August Bournonville's Flower festival [Blomsterfesten i Genzano ], and in José Limón's Moor's pavane; other dancers he saw in these works including Merle Park; American Ballet Theatre's performance of La fille mal gardée with Gelsey Kirkland (including as compared to Markova's characterization of Lise) and Mikhail Baryshnikov; Coppélia with Cynthia [Gregory] and Ivan [Nagy] including Gregory's characterization of Swanhilde compared with that of Markova's; Fernando Bujones's performances in Coppélia and in Frederick Ashton's Les patineurs; the corps; Clark Tippet; more on Kirkland and Baryshnikov in La fille mal gardée; more on Nagy; more on Nureyev; performances by Murray Louis and his company, Murray Louis Dance Company, at New York University Theater, including Louis's works Geometrics and Scheherazade, a dream.
