Description
Ted Thomas's biographical account of his father's (Boris Thomashevsky, singer and actor, one of the biggest stars in Yiddish theatre) early success as a 11-year old boy singing at a Henry Street synagogue and providing for his family after their immigration to the US from Russia to acting in the Yiddish theater on 2nd Avenue at 12. Thomas proceeds with the story of Boris's encounter with his future wife Bessie (who also became an actress), their marriage, their work together in the theater, the development of their career (focusing on Boris's versatility and prominence) and the golden years of the Yiddish Theater.
