Description
Klaus Bleis, a German tap dancer, teacher, and choreographer, discusses his research for a forthcoming book on Carnell Lyons, a tap dancer from Kansas City, Mo., who eventually settled in Berlin. He relates his findings on Lyons's career in the U.S. and Europe, notes Lyons's invention of the paddle and roll, and discusses his observations of Lyons as a teacher. He also discusses his own professional career in Germany, particularly with the Shim Sham Tap Dance Trio, and the general state of tap dancing in Germany.
