Biographical/historical: According to the audio, "My days have been so wondrous free" (5th work) was the first American music composition.
Date: The 5th work was recorded for the RCA Victor album "American songs" (LM 57; issued in195-?), performed by Robert Shaw and the Collegiate Chorale (the Chorale was not mentioned on the audio), and the 6th work was recorded in 1940 in the Victor album "Ballads of the American Revolution and the War of 1812" (P 11, 26460).
