Description
Frances Cole introduces Miller, an oboist, prominent conductor performing with various orchestras, and originator of a popular NBC TV program Sing Along with Mitch. Miller speaks about his profession, his love for music and dedication to his work. Varied footage is shown, including Miller in rehearsal, in performances, in his TV show, and with his protégé pianist David Golub. The last 2 minutes of the recording are unrelated clips from news broadcast of Pope John Paul II's visit to Africa and the aftermath of 1980 siege of the Iranian embassy in London.
