Description
Harlan Brownlee, a dancer, choreographer, and teacher with City in Motion Dance Theater in Kansas City, Mo., discusses his dance training at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, auditioning in Europe and the U.S., and his experiences as a modern dancer in the Midwest. He discusses improvisation in dance, and defines contact improvisation, which he introduced to Kansas City, describing its uses as a means of extending the choreographic vocabulary and as a therapeutic tool.
