Notes
Content: Fritz-Julius Lemp notoriously torpedoed and sank the British passenger liner "Athenia" a few days after war was declared. German propaganda said the British sank their own ship to create an atrocity to blame on their enemies. Lemp died when his U-boat was captured in 1941.
