Content: Picture caption: "So sehen die deutschen Seenot-Flugzeuge aus, die durch ihren weißen Anstrich und das Rote Kreuz gut erkenntlich waren. Sie sind unbewaffnet. Trotzdem nahmen sie die englischen Gentlemen unter MG.-Feuer."
Content: This is a Heinkel He-59 floatplane. They were used to rescue German airmen who had crashed into the English Channel during the Battle of Britain. After the British captured one of these planes and found that it had been doing reconnaissance as well as rescue work, they declared them legitimate targets.
