Content: Foxing on image. Printed on border: "London. Moon, Boys & Graves Pall Mall" Printed on verso: "The natural defence of the tapir against the large American Felinæ (as the jaguar, puma, ocelot, &c.) seems to be to rush into the thickest part of the wood, through which it thrusts its body with comparative facility; while its pursuer, whose skin and body are less prepared for this kind of obstacle and resistance, soon becomes wearied, if not injured."
