To create the streaming files, the sound engineers edited out the recording silences in the preservation files, thus the discrepancies in length between the preservation files and the streaming files.Venue: Recorded in performances at the Zellerbach Auditorium in, Berkeley, California 1978 October 20 and 21.Acquisition: Gift; Merce Cunningham Dance Foundation, 2011-2012.
Physical DescriptionAudiotape reelExtent: 1 audiotape reel (143 minutes) : analog, 7 1/2 ips, quarter track, mono ; 7 in.Sound quality is overall fair. Toneburst has recording distortion, especially in the beginning and the recording quality improves as it continues. Telephones and birds is recorded at an inconsistent volume level, often low with the voices inaudible at times. Weatherings has microphone adjustment sounds in the beginning of the recording and the recording quality improves as it continues. Equal distribution is mostly good with a slight tape "hiss" throughout.
