Interview with Francesca Corkle conducted by Kyra Lynn Kaptzan on October 8, 1978, and broadcast on October 17, 1978, for the radio program Ballet Beat on WNYU-FM. Streaming audio file 1 (approximately 30 minutes). Francesca Corkle speaks with Kyra Lynn Kaptzan about her retirement from the Joffrey Ballet; changes in the company between 1968 and 1978; working with Leonide Massine; the Joffrey repertoire; working with Gerald Arpino; diversity of roles for Joffrey company members; the company's tour to Russia [former Soviet Union]; performing Arpino's ballet, L'air d'esprit; Olga Spessivtzeva; meeting Robert Joffrey for the first time; favorite roles; Antony Tudor's ballet Offenbach in the underworld. Streaming audio file 2 (approximately 17 minutes).
