DescriptionThree representations of the ballerina Fanny Elssler dancing her signature solo, the cachucha from Jean Coralli's ballet Le diable boiteux (1836). Each print depicts her in the same pose: holding castanets in both hands, she turns her head towards her raised right arm; her right foot is slightly advanced. The print from Le monde dramatique depicts the statuette by Jean Auguste Barre, with the name "Fanny Elssler" inscribed on its pedestal. The other two prints, one from a series of costume prints and the other a sheet music cover illustration (with the first page of a music score on the verso), portray the dancer as she might have appeared onstage, with floral tributes strewn at her feet.
