DescriptionInterview with Ella Schram conducted by John Gruen on July 19, 1977 in Copenhagen, Denmark, as research for his book Erik Bruhn: danseur noble (Viking Press, New York, 1979). The interview is conducted in both Danish and English, with Steen Trojaborg serving as interpreter.

Ella Schram, longtime housekeeper for Erik Bruhn's family, speaks with John Gruen (Steen Trojabong is the interpreter) about the Bruhn family and her relationship with them; Bruhn's relationship with his mother; her first getting to know Bruhn well after the death of his mother; a typical day when Bruhn is home; the change in Bruhn after his surgery [for a perforated ulcer]; her friendship with Bruhn including their regular correspondence; her response to seeing Bruhn as Madge in La sylphide; his personality; her admiration for Bruhn. [Ends abruptly but continues on streaming audio file 2.]
