Biographical/historical: Les deux voleurs was a one-act opéra-comique (music, Narcisse Girard; libretto, Adolphe de Leuven and Léon-Lévy Brunswick), first presented at the Théâtre Royal de Opéra-Comique, Paris, in 1841.

Description
Sheet music cover illustration depicting a dancing couple in eighteenth-century costume. The draped curtain at left, the delineation of floorboards beneath the couple's feet, and the woman's ankle-length skirt suggest that they are theatrical performers in a scene from the opera Les deux voleurs.
